AACS Bike-A-Thon

Rob ready to ride!

Rob Irias and his boy's soccer team, along with the girl's soccer team and the track team of Annapolis Area Christian School up on a super awesome Bike-A-Thon to raise money for Kupenda For the Children today.  We are waiting for the total donation $$ to come in but we are currently guessing that they might have raised well over $8k!!!! WHATTT!!! Awesome right??

2011 Cyclocross Campaign Begins!

Today marks the first race of Adam and Pat's 2011 Cyclocross Campaign with Charm City Cross!  Today and tomorrow's races are both UCI level events.  That means there will be some very heavy competition with more than a few professional cyclists and some of the best racers in the world, but it also means that the payout goes very deep.  If Adam and Pat can score inside the top 25 they will receive a cash prize!  That money will then be donated to AFC and go towards their campaign total for the season.

Lets do this!!!!  There is still time to sign up to be a supporter and help them raise money for AFC.  Supporters are not on the hook to make any 'recommended' donations based on this weekend's racing since these races are not part of the MABRA Super 8 Series.  The MABRA Super 8 Series begins next weekend with Tacchino  Cyclocross.

Phelps Luck Swim Team - Charity Fundraiser

Last night the Phelps Luck Swim Team held a fundraiser for AFC! The kids swam from wall to wall in the pool and had friend and family sponsor them per lap. We are still waiting for the final total for how much they raised but those kids were really doing some serious laps!

Chris Lewis - One Day One Cause - SUCCESS!

Yesterday AFC team member Chris Lewis completed his long distance bike ride in Patapsco State Park and raised $625, in his AFC Campaign, for Extreme Weekend For Children With Diabetes! Way to go Chris!!

Another charity event for raising money for Extreme Weekend and Kupenda! Wow!

Two Huge AFC Fundraising Successes!

Recently AFC has raised $5,789.35 with the SugarHill Mountain Bike Race and $3,071.33 with the Leesburg Bakers Dozen Auction! All of that money will be split between Extreme Weekend For Children With Diabetes and Kupenda For the Children.

Thanks to everyone who helped make these events happen!

Another Successful Bike Repair Night!

AFC held another successful Bike Repair Night for the Route 1 Day Center at Mike West's house! A total of 6 bikes were built to be sent to the shelter.
